Staff Governor

Tom was appointed to the Corporation as a staff governor in November 2021, having been employed by the College since March 2017. He has an integral part within the Schools Liaison Team, supporting school leavers in realising their full potential, by helping them take the next step towards their future. Through building strong relationships with partner high schools, Tom provides their pupils with an opportunity to discover the amazing opportunities and courses available at Southport College and KGV Sixth Form. This provides Tom with a unique insight into the Colleges’ status within local schools and the communities they serve. Tom extends his knowledge and support of the town’s community by regularly attending a local church and as a playing member at Southport Rugby Club.

Become a Governor

At Southport College we have an active board of governors who play an important role in the ongoing development of the College. Governors are from the local and wider community with a range of skills, knowledge and experience to help the College take forward its strategic objectives. We value and promote equality and diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all and, when a vacancy arises, appointments are made on merit, also taking account of the need to fill any identified skills gaps. Any person wishing to become a Governor should write to Lisa Farnhill, Clerk to the Corporation for further information and an application pack:
