UKROC is a rocketry challenge for pupils aged 11-18 who are responsible for the design, build, and launch of a model rocket that adheres to strict specifications and rules set by UKROC. Four teams of our T-Level Engineering students will be attending the North Regional Competition taking place on 25th March at Elvington Airfield in York.
With altitude, weight, flight duration, fragile payloads, control boards, launch systems, and safe return to consider, pupils are excited to get started. Preparation includes research, detailed planning, and a test launch in the coming months.
Southport College’s Engineering tutors Kevin Toole and Michael Dowling will be fully supporting our T-Level students as they embark on this innovative challenge. Kevin Toole said “this challenge provides an excellent opportunity for our students to apply their engineering knowledge and skills to a real-world project. We are confident that they will excel and represent the college with pride.”
As we wait eagerly for the North Regional Competition on 25th March, we are looking forward to seeing what our talented students can achieve. Follow us on social media for updates and to cheer them on!
